Bakelite is the most beutiful substance for radios, and telephones. I use paste polish no5 to clean bakelite. Do you know of anything better ? Regards Karen Thumbs Up

really an interesting site. when i was in secondary school 8th standard (22years ago)i got an aiwa mw band pocket transistor still i kept a nationalAMband radio unfortuantelly i lost its osc coil, it was weak by our climate condition.

- How long have you been collecting vintage radios?: Not really a collector, just owned one or two over the years

I used to own a Bush SUG3, bought secondhand for me in 1966 by my late father. In 1981, my wife persuaded me to give it to a boy in her care, who then moved to Scarborough. I note that the featured radio was bought in North Yorkshire. If it has a speaker which is smaller than the front panel cutout (8" or 10" instead of 12"), then it was probably mine, as this modification/repair had been done before I got the radio. If this is the case, I can fill the owner in on the radio's history.
